What You’ll Be Helping Achieve:

Groundswell is seeking a Human Centered Designer that is hyper-focused on understanding and advocating for the end users who interact with our products. As a Designer, you will be responsible for establishing an understanding of the user and their interactions with the product, as well as representing their interests during the initiative planning and implementation phases of product development.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Leading dynamic design at all stages from discovery to validation
  • Conduct user research to identify user needs and pain points
  • Create user personas and user journey maps
  • Design user interfaces that are intuitive and user-friendly
  • Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions
  • Keep up to date with design trends and emerging technologies

Building understanding amongst the stakeholders regarding the users and their experiences:

  • Identifying and sharing data-driven insights and supporting the development of user-centered experiences
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure designs are technically feasible
  • Creating and disseminating artifacts for product and client teams reference
  • Present design concepts and solutions to internal stakeholders
  • Navigating complex cross functional relationships to provide support for questions or variances in understanding

Transitioning from strategy to tactics:

  • Prioritizing actionable findings and recommendations
  • Utilizing research methods to directly influence project outcomes
  • Taking initiative, managing deadlines, working on multiple projects at once
  • Iterate designs based on feedback from user testing
  • Maintaining a creative and solution driven mindset along with a commitment to collaboration

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related field
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Proficiency in design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work Eastern Standard Time work hours

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000 to $110,000.
