WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB //
The Financial Analyst reports to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial reporting and financial analysis of multiple companies that report to our publicly held parent company.
YOUR IMPACT //
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process; prepare all required journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting packages and supporting schedules
- Follow up on and appropriately resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Procure to Pay, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting, Business Partners, Financial Systems and Client Services to ensure that transactions are processed correctly
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for assigned accounts
- Analyze actual monthly account activity and provide monthly variance explanations against budget/reforecast. Ensure proper resolution and/or explanation of variances.
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Prepare support and schedules for interim and year-end external audit
- Perform system testing as needed for upgrades or system implementations and report development
- Assist in researching and resolving accounting, financial, and operations problems/issues
- Analyze processes for efficiencies and suggest improvements
- Prepare any requested ad hoc projects or analyses as needed
WHAT WE NEED //
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of prior accounting experience in a related position
- Public accounting experience and CPA designation (obtained or working towards) preferred
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of accounting concepts under US GAAP
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, policies and procedures
- Experience completing basic financial analyses and account reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines and work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to key data accurately and with a reasonable speed using both 10-key and full keyboard
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with specific proficiency utilizing Excel
- Aptitude to quickly learn new systems or processes. Experience using Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, OnBase and/or BlackLine a plus.
