We currently have a career opening for a Data Protection Engineer. Open to employees living anywhere in the United States we are a remote first team with the majority of team members working 100% remotely.
Job Overview:
The Information Security Engineer of Data Protection will assist the technical leader of the Data protection team at Cardinal Health. This Engineer will support the senior information security engineer to architect, design, and support technology solutions for protecting data. This includes Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), data encryption (at rest, in transit, masking etc.) following the implementation of the Sensitive Data Management Program (SDM). This engineer will also play a role as the SDM program is developed and continually aligned with the changing technological landscape as well as industry evolutions and trends.
Responsibilities include the following:
Assisting in designing and supporting the implementation of data protection tools as needed
Manage policies and configuration of data protection tools per the SDM Program requirements
Partner with the manager and technical lead to provide expertise to corporate, market segments and IT teams and implement appropriate DLP security and monitoring controls
Collaborating with internal IT and business teams to build and deploy security and monitoring controls for databases
Work with the manager and technical lead to define and then implement team processes to enable delivery of the Data protection road map initiatives
Determine current and anticipate future data needs and support the development of security controls in collaboration with the data protection team
Aid in educating data owners and key business technology and application leaders on data identification, secure handling, storage, and transfer of sensitive data
Support the technical lead and manager in collaboration across Information Security and Data Analytics teams to aid in the development, growth, and evolution of the SDM Program while advocating for Data Protection tools and techniques
Qualifications
Required
Prior experience with industry DLP, CASB, data encryption tools, and data protection best practices
Demonstrated Information Security understanding and specifically industry best practices for the development of data protection.
Preferred
One or more Information Security Certifications preferred: CISSP, CSSLP, CISM, CCSP, GSLC, GSEC, CISA, SSCP
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
