Position Summary

As a member of the Revenue Operations team, the Cash Operations Specialist is responsible for receiving, analyzing, and recording payments and statements accurate and timely. The position is responsible for working directly with the carriers to ensure the Company collects all statements, payments, and membership reports for all revenue streams timely. In addition, the position is responsible for tracking the workflow sent and received from the Commission teams. The role reports to the Supervisor of Cash Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process statements received via email, retrieved via FTP server, or collected via carrier website portals.
  • Prepare statements for processing by the Commission Operations teams.
  • Send and retrieve scanned documents to and from the Commission Operations teams and communicate file submissions and retrievals.
  • Review the daily cash receipts in the Daily Cash Forecast to identify deposit exceptions and perform outreach to carriers as needed to ensure timely receipt of payments and statements.
  • Prepare manual deposits using the remote capture scanning device.
  • Enter payments and statements into the eHealth internal Cash Receipts System (CRS). Validate for accuracy and completeness including product break-outs and receipt dates.
  • Write and maintain procedures related to the process, research, audits, and reporting functions.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports from leadership and internal/external auditors as requested.
  • Perform collections function for payments, statements, and membership reports by contacting carriers via email and phone. Escalate issues to the Cash Operations Supervisor.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business or Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strict attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills – verbal and written.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently, performing to high standards of productivity and accuracy.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team and cross functionally with other teams.
  • Prior experience with data analysis, trending, and management reporting.
  • Prior experience in Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable.
  • Prior experience in the insurance or healthcare industry, specifically with regard to the payment or collection of commissions.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and revenue recognition standard Accounting Standards Codification (ASC 606) is preferred.
  • Maintain professionalism in a team environmental.
