The HR Services Specialist is responsible for responding to and supporting the resolution of inquiries from managers, employees, and HR regarding a wide variety of issues including payroll, benefits, data management, etc.
This position is the first point of contact for human resources customers utilizing technology to document, communicate, and resolve inquiries received via the telephone, MyHR portal, emails, and correspondence in a timely, accurate and confidential manner on a consistent basis. Performs various administrative tasks in support of the HR organization.
Incumbent is responsible to promote and maintain the principles of and responsibilities related to Responsible Care within his/her assigned areas of responsibility
Responsibilities
- This position has the responsibility to provide excellent customer service in a team environment and respond to a wide variety of HR-related inquiries including, but not limited to;
- Company policies
- Benefit programs
- Employee services
- Employment guidelines
- Performance management processes
- Pay information
- Responsible for creating cases using the case management system and ensuring their completion within the required timeframe
- Sends complex questions and issues to Tier 2 and the HR squads to ensure submitted cases are closed in a timely manner
- Handles a variety of administrative tasks, i.e. paying invoices, filing employee forms, new hire orientations, exit interviews, etc.
- Creates personnel files for newly hired employees
- Analyzes/researches issues and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Identifies and participates in process improvement activities
- Coaches employees, managers, and HR where future requests can be completed with Tier 0 functionality
- Provides input to MyHR Knowledge Base
- Participates in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process flows
- Performs and participates in special projects and any other duties as assigned
- Provides coverage for team members’ absences as required
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all team members
- Works with the team to proactively improve processes, promote digitalization and encourage positive changes within the department, while enhancing the employee experience

Requirements
- Education: BS degree with 0-2 years’ experience and/or High School diploma with 2-3 years’ experience required.
- Must be familiar with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures
- Advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with employees and HR Service team members
- Excellent telephone manner with clear, concise, and professional communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow up and resolution
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work independently
