About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated, analytical candidate with a proven track record of performance to be part of a centralized regulatory Compliance Team for a fast-growing Money Services Business (MSB). As an international remittance company, Sendwave is subject to many regulatory requirements to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. As such, Sendwave must conduct investigations and due diligence research on customers and transaction activity that seem potentially suspicious.

The Compliance Team, including the anti-money laundering and economic sanctions screening group, conducts investigations relying on thoroughness, curiosity, and excellent judgment to accomplish that objective while working under limited managerial supervision.

What You Will Own

Reporting to the AML Transaction Monitoring & Compliance Due Diligence Team Lead, you will:

  • Gather, analyze and synthesize customer due diligence information to evaluate the expected activity and whether the customer and/or transaction activity is suspicious.
  • Identify the Source of Funds (SoF) and Destination of Funds (DoF).
  • Review and analyze underlying data and customer due diligence, looking for Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Terrorist Financing (TF), human trafficking, and other red flags to assess whether the potentially suspicious activity should be escalated to our investigations team or be closed with no further action.
  • Escalate suspicious cases to compliance leadership with clear explanations of risk factors and red flags.
  • Collect, evaluate and organize evidence and documents to support your determinations.
  • Articulate and support findings, such as recommendations to block users for suspicious activity, or recommendations to clear users upon determining root causes of transaction activity are legitimate.
  • Establish rapport with Sendwave customers, explain compliance requirements and elaborate on Terms & Conditions.
  • Evaluate user applications for increased sending (transaction) limits.

What you bring to the table:

  • Appropriate experience within an anti-financial crime-related role.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely and maintaining a professional work environment.
  • Appreciation of the legal, compliance, and financial context of the role and display appropriate sensitivity to the confidential nature of the work

Compensation:

For US based applicants, $55,000- $68,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
