Position Responsibilities

Deltek is actively seeking a passionate, and dedicated Associate Software Engineer to join us in support of our Deltek PM Compass team!

The perfect candidate will be new to software development with limited experience developing and maintaining Windows applications gained through traditional education and some through on-the-job practice. It is expected that this role will become familiar with Deltek Project and Portfolio (PPM) products to aid in each assigned development task. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, quality focused and will collaborate with their leader to manage their priorities in a fast-paced environment in order to meet business and technical demands across a broad spectrum of clients from multiple industry verticals.

  • Develop and maintain, collaborating with senior developers, exceptional VB .NET Windows applications and services for our clients.
  • Learn and adapt to new or changing technologies, requirements, and processes.
  • Deliver enhancements to existing solutions based on functional and design requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Review complex issues alongside senior developers to learn best practices, investigative troubleshooting processes to determine root problems, and propose creative solutions.
  • Take initiative when given a task, drive towards solutions and seek assistance in a timely manner when appropriate.
  • Communicate with others across departments and multiple organizational levels.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required for this role
  • College degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or similar degree is required.
  • 6 months or more experience with Software Development.
  • Experience with VB.Net or C# is required.
  • Solid experience with Visual Studio, TFS or comparable IDE and source control platforms
  • Experience with SQL scripting and data manipulation would be a plus
  • Ideal candidate will have an Agile development methodology background
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
