Brown & Brown Risk Solutions, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for an individual to join the Healthcare team in Nashville, TN; Providence, RI; or remotely as a Risk Analyst.

Responsibilities

As a Risk Analyst, you will support the account team and develop relationship with clients by providing risk analysis and meeting commitments on time sensitive tasks in a professional and punctual manner. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate state brokers licensing.
  • Follow industry trends and/or governmental regulation updates.
  • Attend required training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date skills and product knowledge.
  • Be available for peer-to-peer learning, training and mentorship to encourage workplace skill development for all teammates.
  • Assist clients and insurers with day-to-day email, phone and mail requests for policies, change requests, endorsements, audits, accounting/billing, certificates of insurance, auto ID cards.
  • Review accuracy of all policies, changes/endorsements, audits and other documents and assist in delivery of such documentation to clients.
  • Engage Billing Specialist on direction of Account Executives/Account Managers with any billing discrepancies to develop action plan.
  • Request loss runs from prior/current insurers; create or update loss summary template and provide to placement team.
  • Perform risk analysis studies not limited to compilations of underwriting information and coverage placement, loss forecasting and analysis in order to promote maximum protection of an organization's assets and assist in loss reduction.
  • File and organize all marketing emails and quotes in ImageRight.
  • Prepare proposal and update with updated values, any endorsements/changes that occurred throughout the year, ensuring internal audit requirements are included. Have peer reviewed.
  • Provide current certificate list to client for review/update and ensure renewal certificates are prepped for issuance upon binding by working with Critical Services.
  • Prepare and issue binders, invoices, certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, schedule of insurance and current team chart at the time of new business binding or policy renewal. Work with Critical Services and Billing Specialist appropriately.
  • Complete any necessary surplus lines forms based on primary coverage state requirements and provide to SL team.
  • Track receipt of insurer invoices/debit notes and work with billing specialist to file and task to accounting. Billing Specialist to track payments from client and to insurers.
  • Track and follow up with insurers for receipt of policies and file in Image Right using posted naming conventions. Review policies for accuracy using checklist and request any corrections needed from insurers. Deliver all policies to client using appropriate email delivery template. Update property loss notice if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree including, but not limited to Risk Management, Finance, Accounting and Marketing, and/or 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial insurance.
  • Working knowledge of business office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to accept responsibility and stay focused under pressure
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have or be able to acquire and maintain resident state Property and Casualty Insurance License within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
