Summary Of Position

The Tax Analyst to be a key contributor within its tax function. The Tax Analyst will report directly to the Indirect Tax Manager and will help transform the tax processes in a rapidly growing organization, with a primary focus of Teladoc’s global indirect tax function.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Preparation, review and filing of the indirect tax returns including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, property tax, business licenses and annual reports, unclaimed property, VAT/GST/HST etc.
  • Liaise with company’s external advisors on various tax compliance and consulting projects
  • Prepare accounts reconciliation monthly and analyze G/L data as required for financial reporting
  • Prepare indirect tax reserve analysis and adjustments
  • Prepare exempt certificates and advise business on taxability of products, services, and bundles. Recommend and implement system changes to insure proper taxability
  • Prepare and recommend process improvement for indirect tax.
  • Identify areas for tax savings opportunities
  • Identify areas of exposure to help the company manage and mitigate tax risk
  • Compile information requests and assist with state audit and VDA process to minimize the company’s exposure
  • Keep current with indirect tax regulations changes and implement operational and compliance changes as required.
  • Perform relevant tax research and prepare memoranda as needed
  • Maintain/improve effective controls over all tax processes
  • Work effectively across departments for various tax and business needs
  • Assist with state registrations and related applications
  • Stay current with tax technological developments to help identify and improve automation and process improvement within the tax function
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications Expected For Position

  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting or related field
  • CPA or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Tax is a plus
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Team player with solid interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong professional ethics and integrity
  • Acts with a sense of urgency
  • Organized and efficient work approach, and works toward continuous improvement
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with MS office, Excel (advanced), and other software
  • Experience with tax research software and ability to interpret tax laws
  • Experience with ERP systems and Vertex is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while successfully meeting deadlines and delivering results

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2023 . Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
