We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Operations team at Blackbaud. What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for P2P cycle accounting support for daily and month-end processes including but not limited to prepaid expense and accrual accounting
- Participate in the month-end financial close process across the organization, as well as reacting to and developing solutions for close-related issues as they arise in the process
- Critically analyzing financial information for accuracy and reasonableness, including information included in the Company's financial reports filed with the SEC (10-Q, 10-K, proxy, registration statements)
- Ensure the accuracy of the Corporate Financial Statements, including analytical reviews of financial statements
- Work closely with finance and treasury organizations to provide ongoing accounting support
- Prepare journal entries for month-end close
- Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Make process improvement recommendations with regard to policies and procedures
What We'll Want You To Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Master's Degree or CPA preferred
- 1+ years of relevant experience; a combination of public and private accounting experience preferred
- Hands-on financial professional possessing outstanding technical and analytical skills; internal control experience essential
- Exhibits professional presence in interactions with executive management and possesses presentation and communication skills; must be able to deal with ambiguity but relay information clearly and concisely
- Experience with Workday and/or Blackline is preferred
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, software industry experience a plus and the ability to apply relevant guidance to complex transactions
- Well organized, detail-oriented team player with proven ability to multitask effectively and work independently
- Able to prepare written communications that articulate messages concisely and accurately
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, including the ability to critically think and present new or creative solutions
- Ability to work in an organized, detailed manner under tight deadlines
