Business Operations Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting projects and initiatives. They act as document control specialists, supporting the creation and management of policies, standard operating procedures and guides. The Business Operations Specialist works under minimal supervision, and they rely upon effective relationships across key business units in the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports and/or leads projects focused on improving the client experience and the delivery of payments
  • Assists the Sr. Manager, Operational Quality & Controls on all activities supporting the operational departments of the Zelis Payments business unit.
  • Creates presentations, reports and communications for key stakeholders
  • Understands operational initiatives to ensure committed quality expectations are met
  • Acts as a document control specialist to ensure documentation for Zelis Payments is tracked and stored; Partners with key stakeholders to create and update policies, procedures and guides
  • Identifies process gaps and makes recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Ensures requests and cases are resolved in a timely manner
  • Supports contract management processes for Zelis Payments
  • Thorough knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Independent decision-making capability
  • Must have professional manner and respect the confidentiality of administrative matters and files
  • Makes logical suggestions of likely causes of problems and indpendently suggests solutions
  • Regularly attends and participates in departmental meetings
  • Must be proactive to ensure proper follow up and completion of projects
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor in sensitive situations
  • Assists other departments as necessary
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure adherence to Zelis standards regarding privacy.

Professional Experience

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office products
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to deal with complex issues
  • Excellent organizational skills are required to prioritize responsibilities, thus completing work in a timely fashion
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Attention to detail and concern for impact is essential
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead transparently in a team/project environment
  • Must work well with others
  • Effectively communicates with others by giving and receiving feedback
  • Communicates ideas and information clearly
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interface with the entire staff, and external representatives from the business and client communities

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
