Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is now offering flexibility to choose among 3 different working models, in-office,

hybrid, and virtual.

  • In Office: Employees will be office based and be assigned a desk in an Amazon building.

Employees will be required to reside within a commutable distance of the office they are

assigned to.

  • Hybrid: Employees will be required to reside within a commutable distance of the office

they are assigned to but have the flexibility to regularly work from home as well as from the

office. Employees on a Hybrid work pattern will be expected to attend their assigned office a

minimum of one day per week. These employees will follow agile seating when in office.

  • Virtual Workers: Employees must be based in the US and work will be aligned to an AWS

office based on their time zone, and are not required to attend an office on a regular basis. If

needed, virtual employees may go into an office for critical trainings, meetings and team-

building events. These employees will follow agile seating when in office.

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as the ‘Cloud Ambassador’ across all the cloud products, arming our customers with required tools & tactics to get the most out of their Product and Support investment.

  • On a typical day, a Support Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving customer’s cases through a variety of customer contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat. You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions for our customers and drive customer interactions by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
  • Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Support Engineer may also coach/mentor new hires, develop & present training, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/script to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.

  • Support engineers interested in travel have presented training or participated in focused summits across our sites or at specific AWS events.
  • As we operate on a follow-the-sun model, with Premium Support sites located globally, working hours and days are based on customer demand and may include weekends (on a rotational basis).

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge in enterprise systems administration in Windows Server and related services (Active Directory, DNS, IIS, MSSQL).
  • Knowledge/experience in enterprise systems administration in Windows Server and related services (Active Directory, DNS, IIS, MSSQL, Sharepoint, Exchange, Windows server, Single Sign On).
  • Knowledge of Windows troubleshooting tools (Event viewer, Task manager, WinDbg, Windows Sysinternals, perfmon, WPR/WPA).
  • Experience in Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, or LAN/WAN) Knowledge of Windows troubleshooting tools (WinDbg, Windows Sysinternals, perfmon, WPR/WPA).
  • Master’s Degree in Information Science/Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field OR Bachelor’s Degree in the same with 1+ year of experience OR equivalent experience in a technical position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, OpenStack).
  • Experience with programming/scripting (Batch, Perl, Ruby, VB, PowerShell, Java, C# and/or PHP).
  • Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications.
  • Experience with System Administration with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server and associated technologies (Active Directory, Exchange).
  • Experience with Network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools).
  • Knowledge of storage technologies.
  • Experience with Cloud services and Cloud deployments.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $78,900 - $138,200 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
