We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Payroll Operations Specialist to join our growing team! This is a remote opportunity.

The Payroll Operations Specialist role is to build strong relationships with their assigned profit centers while assisting and guiding the profit center Administrators on the Brown & Brown policies and practices of Payroll Operations.

General Responsibilities

  • Build a strong bond with assigned PCs to create trust and accountability
  • Learn and understand all policies and procedures associated with B&B payroll
  • Remain up to date on all newly released versions of Workday
  • Research and respond to questions from PCs and Teammates
  • Key payroll input received from PCs.
  • Create, reconcile, maintain and report for assigned area, for example: multi- jurisdiction,
  • new hire compliance, monthly statistics, annual occupation statistics, and benefits
  • Process garnishments
  • Process UHC monthly invoice
  • Create check requests and obtain approval for various invoices
  • Send census, termination, transfer and A10 reports to Finance
  • Send bi-weekly termination and transfer reports to IT
  • Maintaining and Filing of the Quarterly Multi-J report
  • SSA Verification
  • Save payroll reports on Q: drive
  • File EEO reports
  • Run and distribute new hire report biweekly to payroll teammates
  • New hire compliance reporting
  • Send out Washington state quarter end reports to the PCs with teammates working in WA
  • Participate in department meetings by submitting ideas to improve the department processes
  • Travel to department trainings to meet and grow relationships with PC Administrators
  • Process Deferred Compensation payments
  • Audit teammate state and local payroll taxes
  • Assist with payroll tax set up and issues
  • Process US mail, including scanning document then e-mailing to appropriate internal teammate
  • Various department projects as they arise

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a similar position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline

Target Pay

$25.00 USD Hourly
