ABOUT US

At Founders Pledge, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to do immense good. Since launching in 2015, we’ve raised over $10 billion for the most impactful social causes. We offer the simplest path to impact for successful entrepreneurs, providing end-to-end giving infrastructure, pioneering research, and access to a worldwide network of experts. In other words, we help tech leaders become strategic philanthropists. Our 1800+ members include the people behind industry-leading companies such as Airbnb, UiPath, Dropbox, Skype, Spotify, and Uber.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re now looking for a Talent & People Associate to join as the third and final part of our vibrant, effective and ambitious People team! Our team enables everyone at Founders Pledge to achieve their potential, ensuring we move as many funds as possible to high-impact causes worldwide. You’ll report to Sally, Senior Talent & People Partner (based in the UK), owning administrative tasks and supporting across recruitment, people ops and projects, ensuring we provide a brilliant candidate and employee experience.

There’s always a lot going on at Founders Pledge, for example, this year we’re introducing a new applicant tracking system and performance management system, and you’ll support the implementation of both. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn, develop and grow as part of a dedicated, global People team, at a nonprofit startup!

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and updating our HR systems, HR administration and compliance. This will include Personio, our HRIS and all documentation.
  • Processing international payroll (UK, US, Germany).
  • End-to-end talent acquisition. This will include posting and promoting job adverts, conducting screening calls, scheduling interviews, LinkedIn outreach and building passive talent pools.
  • Onboarding new joiners, including creating offer letters/contracts and Right to Work checks. You’ll work closely with our IT & Data Admin to make sure new joiners have all of the equipment that they need. You’ll also offboard staff at the end of their employment.
  • Identifying ways to streamline and improve all of our people-related processes to give applicants, new joiners and current FP team members a better candidate and/or employee experience.
  • Preparing quarterly reports on employee engagement, recruitment, performance, diversity and other metrics showing insights where possible.
  • Managing the contract for our San Francisco office and helping with basic IT requests.
  • Ad-hoc projects that support the engagement and performance of Founders Pledge, including helping with the planning and implementation of our annual global offsite.

ABOUT YOU

First and foremost, you’ll be excited to build your generalist HR knowledge in a broad people support role. Talent acquisition will usually take up a large chunk of your time, so you’ll love speaking to people, understanding their work motivations and telling them more about working at Founders Pledge. Although you don’t need to have previous experience working in HR/people ops, this would be an advantage.

You’ll have:

  • Experience in recruitment and managing end-to-end candidate lifecycles, either with an agency or in-house.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence using GSuite/MS Office.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Experience working remotely - you can show how you’ve been successful working remotely in the past.
  • Eager to learn, with a growth mindset.

Nice to haves (but not essential):

  • HR/people ops experience in a professional capacity, or a HR qualification.
  • Experience using a HRIS/customer database, LinkedIn Recruiter or performance management systems.
  • Experience administering payroll.

WHY WORK WITH US?

What makes us truly special is both our mission and our people. We’re a diverse team, from both charitable and commercial backgrounds, who believe that amazing things can happen when we tackle problems together. We offer a flat structure and an opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy.

To apply for this role, you’ll need to be based in the USA. We’re open to remote applicants - you’ll just need a great home wifi connection and we’ll provide you with everything else you need to be successful in your role.

We have approx. 20 staff in the US who either work remotely or from our small office in San Francisco. We bring the entire FP team (of 65) together for a global offsite once per year (usually in the UK) and the People team will also meet once per year to work together.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Founders Pledge. We seek people with different strengths, experiences and backgrounds, who share our drive to understand and solve complex social challenges. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems requires different perspectives and unique ways of thinking and we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can do their best work.
