NOW CFO is a consulting/outsourcing firm specializing in accounting and finance. We have been around for over 17 years and are helping companies in over 30 states! Currently, we are seeking a part-time Staff Accountant to join our Boise consulting team.
As a Staff Accountant consultant, you will work with clients to complete their daily, monthly and annual accounting processes, including revenue recognition, expense categorization, and balance sheet accounting. You will review and correct financial transactions and post journal entries in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. You will prepare and review financial statements, reports, and analyses. You will also carry out relevant administrative duties, such as tracking time and responding timely to clients. Ultimately, you will ensure the clients’ finances run smoothly.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Staff Accountant will vary significantly depending upon a company’s size and needs. This is an ongoing opportunity with the potential to become full-time.
Responsibilities
- Post transactions and categorize records in the client’s accounting system.
- Maintain and update client accounting records and files, including debt schedules and depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements.
- Book accruals and reclasses and perform account reconciliations.
- Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and processes.
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
- Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Develop monthly financial reporting package to client leadership, including budget variance analysis.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts.
- Work with clients to develop annual budgets, including income and expense projections.
- Prepare documents for audits.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP.
- Excellent use of ERP systems, especially QuickBooks Online.
Pay is DOE.
