About This Position:

We are seeking a motivated and goal-oriented individual to join our finance team as Accounting Analyst. As a member of the finance department, you will be involved in various aspects of the accounting function with key responsibilities of supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional looking to develop their skills in a dynamic and growing software company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be excited to work directly with our customers and vendors and motivated to achieve goals. This role is fully remote with minimal travel.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Accounts Receivable (approximately 60%):

  • Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer accounts and proactively work with customers to ensure timely collection of receivables.
  • Prepare and analyze aging reports to identify overdue accounts and take appropriate actions.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to all inbound payment-related questions and issues.
  • Maintain and update information in customer vendor databases and portals.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.
  • Produce weekly collections forecast.
  • Prepare sales tax returns and 3rd party royalty reports.
  • Support calculation of various revenue related metrics and including SaaS ARR related metrics.

Accounts Payable (approximately 20%):

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approval.
  • Respond to all in-bound vendors queries relating to billing and payment.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by preparing accruals and reconciliations.

Other (approximately 20%):

  • Support the finance team in various tasks as needed, including month-end close.
  • Conduct variance analysis and investigate any discrepancies or unusual trends.
  • Collaborate with auditors during external audits, prepare schedules and provide necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to process optimization and automation within the month-end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Other work as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior accounting experience is not required but will be considered.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers and vendors.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
