Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will be a part of the FP&A team that supports corporate development, specifically Mergers & Acquisition activity. The position is an important role in supporting future growth of our company, including market and demographic research, valuation analysis, including related analysis of competitive market, brands and financial statements, and supporting the due diligence process. The specific role may be fine-tuned based on the candidate.

The Financial Analyst reports to the Senior Mergers & Acquisition Manager.

Position Overview

Area of Responsibility

  • Provides key information by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Disseminate Financial Statements and perform analysis, including data entry of financial statements
  • Maintain financial lookback reporting for acquisitions, conduct trend/variance analysis and report findings and opportunities
  • Provides key information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Conduct market, brand and demographic research supporting acquisition and market planning activities
  • Produce modeling (ROI/DCF/IRR) for potential investments using existing models, including dealership acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Reporting for other projects such as new add points, capital project return analysis and divestiture analysis
  • Support financial and operational due diligence processes on potential acquisitions, including working with all functional areas and operating teams
  • Assist in monthly reporting including materials for the Board of Directors (BOD) as needed
  • Identify and communicate ongoing opportunities to improve current processes
  • Maintain working relationships with the operations reporting and technical accounting teams to support creation of annual operating plans and modeling as needed

Additional Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Data gathering, analyses and reconciling skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency is critical
  • Critical Thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems and solve complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Time Management – self started with ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize workload and manage one’s own time
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • 0-3 years of previous experience in a related role, financial analysis a plus
