This role will be part of the Yahoo Analytics, Research and Data (YARD) team. YARD is a global team of multi-disciplined data, analytics and research experts working together to provide actionable insights that inform and drive decision-making across all Yahoo businesses: Yahoo Mail, Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Search and AOL.

A Lot About You

YARD’s Data Operations team is searching for a qualified, passionate and highly motivated Analytics Implementation Specialist. This opportunity will require the individual to creatively approach problems from an analytical perspective to deliver automated and scalable data enablement solutions. A successful candidate is a team player, thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment, and possesses the aptitude to work independently.

As an Analytics Implementation Specialist, you will be responsible for the deployment, quality assurance, and integration of data across the analytics lifecycle and data ecosystem. Furthermore, you will:

  • Partner with key stakeholders across Research, Analytics, and Data Science
  • Play a critical role in enabling data to conduct insightful analyses of the company's user experience and audience behaviors across Yahoo’s owned and operated properties
  • Be on the edge of industry standards and trends for analytics, research, and data products

Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions from key stakeholders into detailed tracking specifications and requirements across all platforms (web, mobile apps, video and emerging platforms) and partner with data product and engineering teams to drive data enablement solutions
  • Participate in QA and deployment processes
  • Conduct data quality audits and assurance on implemented tags, identify data collection issues, propose improvements, and oversee their implementation
  • Proactively identify issues that impact measurement across Yahoo’s portfolio of products.
  • Ensure accurate, consistent, and governed measurement by establishing data instrumentation audits and validation best practices across our internal data sets and sources
  • Effectively communicate with key stakeholders and guide them in retrieving the necessary data to answer business questions
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of analytics implementation projects
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple analytics solution design projects simultaneously
  • Serve as a liaison between business owners and application development teams
  • Clearly communicate the impact and prioritize tracking bugs, enhancements, and issues
  • Maintain appropriate standardized guidelines and processes to expedite workflow and ultimately improve efficiencies
  • Build productive relationships with stakeholders, partners, vendors, and developers for mutual benefit

You Must Have

  • Have solid analytics implementation experience across the life cycle and digital platforms (including web, responsive and native apps)
  • Hands-on experience and implementation expertise with analytics tools e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc
  • Experience with analytics debugging tools such as Charles Proxy or an equivalent
  • Significant experience, proficiency in, and passion for mobile and web products
  • Capable to perform routine quality assurance checks to guarantee clean data for the Analytics team
  • Experience in general troubleshooting assistance, as well as providing guidance for data integrity issues
  • Experience in leveraging multiple types of data (i.e. audience traffic data, revenue data & survey insights)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment juggling multiple projects often under tight and concurrent deadlines and immediate stakeholder needs
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Innovative and creative with a self-starter mentality and eagerness to take on new tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholders
  • Team player in driving growth results combined with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with strong work ethic and core values (honesty, integrity, creativity, etc)
  • Media Industry experience is a must!

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (STEM field preferred but not required)
  • Familiar with web development technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, JSON, and data layer implementation
  • Prior digital advertising or online media experience
  • Proficiency in third-party tools such as Comscore, SimilarWeb, and Data AI.
  • Agile experience and familiarity with JIRA and Confluence

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
