Remember when companies cut physical checks, stamped bills for approval, and kept just about everything in a steel filing cabinet? Or perhaps you’ve audited or prepared the taxes for said company during a busy “season” that turned into a year of only seeing the sun through your office window. Wouldn’t it be nice to kiss that life goodbye and work with folks who embrace change and constant improvement while sporting a modern stack of finance tools to save your precious time?

Welcome to Expel... we’d like you to help us do just that! For this role you’ll report to our Assistant Controller and join a rapidly-maturing, agile accounting team ready for whatever our future holds. We’ve adopted a “continuous close” approach this year that allows us to boast a speedy 3-day monthly close while maintaining our “customer service” reputation with other teams and still have bandwidth to knock out bigger key priorities.

We like to say that accountants aren’t boring people, we just get excited over boring things. We’re on the lookout for someone that can match our enthusiasm for breaking through the status quo of accounting. This includes things like bookkeeping, reconciliations, disbursements, reporting, tax compliance, audit preparations, etc.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, come sprinkle in some sugar!

  • Provide the autonomy to define and prioritize problems and also propose and implement their solutions
  • Build cross functional relationships with other departments at Expel

What You Should Bring With You

  • A strong service mentality to drive internal customer joy
  • The ability to translate accounting jargon into accessible concepts for all audiences
