The Security Engineer is responsible for contributing to security-related development projects advising R&D staff on secure coding practices and acting as a security subject matter expert.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design the way basic static-analysis and dynamic-analysis tests are run monitor the tests for errors when they are run and educate developers on the flaws uncovered with oversight from other team members
• Conduct standard threat modeling; with guidance and oversight validate that threats are identified; provide recommendations to mitigate threats that are identified
• Conduct secure code reviews to determine the security flaws in the software and communicate the risks of those flaws to the development team with oversight from other team members
• Research new attack vectors and stay current with cybersecurity news and trends
• Conduct standard security assessments to help determine the overall security posture of the software
• Participate in the development of security-related consumable code to be used across the team to mitigate basic security flaws in the software
• Conduct security training on standard topics for internal customers
• Generate standard reports and tests to determine that the company’s applications are in compliance with industry and customer regulations
  
  

What Will Make You Successful

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience as a security engineer and/or software developer
• Good oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
• Collaboration skills, applied successfully within team
• Interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department
• Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Good ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and mobilize team members and business partners
• Good attention to detail
• Good knowledge of core security concepts and security design principles
• Good knowledge of object oriented programming and concepts
• Up to 10% travel time required
  
  

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for Colorado individuals only: Colorado base salary range: $108,000 - $170,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits.
