Commerce Writer, Travel

Job Description

Travel + Leisure is looking for a full-time writer to cover timely, travel-related shopping content, including sale roundups, celebrity-approved items, single product reviews, and customer-loved pieces. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about travel and commerce-focused stories and who can create quality content and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Your Day-to-day

  • Pitch and write 1-2 Commerce articles per day that generate affiliate revenue
  • Identify and execute on commerce content opportunities within various lifestyle categories including fashion, beauty, wellness, and travel
  • Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
  • Collaborate closely with numerous writers and editors on the T+L News and Deals team along with editors on the T+L edit team
  • Monitor social media (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) for commerce opportunities, including celebrity style and viral products, and film IG reels on your favorite travel products
  • Handle weekly reporting and assist with newsletter
  • Attend weekly editorial meetings

You Are

  • Passionate about travel with writing and commerce experience
  • Obsessed with finding the best products out there to enhance a trip, and the person all your friends come to for advice
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid writing skills, as well as a basic understanding of SEO practices
  • Strong writer, capable of creating engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping the brand voice, values, and style in mind
  • Self-starter who can pivot seamlessly as new initiatives and directives are identified
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

Salary: $45,500 - $65,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
