The Associate Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing timely and accurate product research support to The 411 Technical Support Specialists across the complete range of Zimmer Biomet’s hip, knee extremity, cement, sports medicine, biologic and trauma products.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Technical Support Specialists to provide product research support and analysis to assist them in answering technical questions from the Zimmer Biomet sales force in preparation of becoming a Technical Support Specialist. At times, this analysis may be connected to an ongoing surgery.
  • Provide analysis for product applications based on input from the Sales force. Working with Technical Support Specialists, review x-rays and other data to recommend options for product application.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Zimmer Biomet’s orthopedic, trauma, biologic and sports medicine division’s new, current and historical products, instruments and surgical techniques in preparation of becoming a Technical Support Specialist.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge database of Zimmer Biomet’s orthopedic, trauma, biologic and sports medicine division’s new, current and historical products, instruments and surgical techniques.
  • Assist the Technical Support Specialists by providing them with reports from the technical support request database so that the Technical Support Specialists can provide consistent feedback and analysis to Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, Sales Education, Product Marketing & Development Engineering departments on topics including but not limited to: potential product defects, instrument problems, and product educational needs of Zimmer Biomet’s sales force.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the sales associate data base.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Marketing or other related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience required.
  • Medical Device industry experience preferred in either a product development engineering or marketing position, preferably both. General knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the human body is preferred.

Salary range: $50000 - $60000/year
