About This Position

The Structuring & Analysis Specialist is a key cross-functional position within Intersect Power’s broader finance team. The role’s primary responsibilities include supporting project model owners in the development and finance teams, testing new model templates and financing tools, driving adoption of databases, tracking project model assumptions and economic outputs, and enforcing the use of reporting templates and model update processes. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Structuring & Analysis and work closely with the Development and Finance teams.

Overview Of Department

The Structuring and Analysis team is primarily tasked with maintaining critical financial analysis infrastructure for the company that serves as the foundation for decision support, strategy and capital allocation. This includes financial model templates, underwriting standards and related tools and processes. The team works closely with functional and project subject matter experts to advance analytical priorities and capabilities. The team also helps support other departments in complex, portfolio or company-wide financial analyses and supports the Finance team on complex, bespoke or portfolio and corporate level financial transactions.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Testing and improving the project models used across numerous technologies and stages of development, construction, and operations
  • Supporting updates to the standard project model template to ensure seamless roll-out of new functionality and consistency across dozens of individual projects
  • Driving adoption of assumption and output databases to standardize data flows into project models and out to key deliverables and management dashboards
  • Reviewing project financial metrics used in internal reporting and key decision-making documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Auditing portfolio and corporate financing tools for consistency with project model outcomes
  • Reviewing financial results and key sensitivities to understand key value drivers, uncover valuable insights and disseminate findings
  • Support complex project, portfolio and company level financial analysis

Qualifications And Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Excel, including creating and maintaining VBA based macros
  • 1-2 years of work in energy or infrastructure project modeling
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, or similar quantitative fields
  • Experience using cloud-based databases to interface with Excel-based project models
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with stakeholders to standardize processes and enforce adoption of shared tools
  • Experience with Python preferred but not required

Physical And Sensory Requirements

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Position is part of a remote team, with regular electronic and video communication
  • Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~4 weeks total through a calendar year.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: $80,000- $100,000 USD base salary with 25-35% annual target bonus
