Location: 100% Remote, must work CST time zone

Full-time work hours after training:10:30am CST - 7pm CST

Salary: $40-45k

Overview

Avenica is currently evaluating talent for an Entry Level Provider Claims Advocate in the healthcare industry. Advocates are responsible for handling inbound calls from both customers and providers or their office support staff across multiple claims platforms. No industry experience is required.

Responsibilities For Provider Claims Advocate

  • Assist a member or provider with understanding how a claim has processed
  • Verify claim status for a member or provider
  • Educate a member or provider on billing protocols
  • Write or correct authorizations to ensure claims are paid correctly
  • Send claims for adjustment/reprocessing within multiple claim platforms
  • Send a request for a cancelled check copy, to reissue a check, or request a stop pay/do not reissue on a check
  • Provide follow-up on issues by making outbound calls when necessary
  • Send an Advocate Handoff/Help Request for escalated or complex issues
  • Assist providers with contract related inquiries and demographic updates

Requirements For Provider Claims Advocate

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Ability to work full time: this is a full-time role, 40hrs/week.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the US; Avenica is unable to provide sponsorship at this time
  • Ability to receive and understand direction, ask questions when appropriate, and manage time to work effectively and independently
  • Highly motivated and intuitive technical capabilities, or ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Strong conflict-resolution skills
  • Flexible and creative problem-solver – every call is different, so candidates must be able to be comfortable “thinking on their feet"
  • Self-directed and independent, coupled with good judgment in making decisions
