Job Description

Join a very fast-growing team at Numerator! The Data Team is at the forefront of machine learning, computer vision, and other new technologies that enable us to extract information from our hundreds of thousands of panelists and turn it into data that many Fortune 500 companies use to guide their business and answer questions about who is buying their products and why.

The Associate Product Manager works alongside engineering teams to ingest consumer purchase data in many forms, parse and process it, turn it into structured data, and enrich it with additional context. Unique within our Product Data team, this role is expected to rotate between a few different teams, gaining experience in several different technical areas and team dynamics.

The role is a mix of tactical - organizing sprints, researching upcoming features, and getting into the nitty gritty details of processing receipts and the complex business logic involved - and strategic - working with stakeholders to understand customer problems, thinking big about future enhancements, changes in the market and our clients’ needs.

Here's What You'll Be Doing On a Day To Day Basis

The Associate Product Manager will work with many other development teams, including Deep Learning and Mobile Apps, and very closely with our Operations team in maintaining and improving our data entry application. The role will also coordinate and communicate with many other parts of the organization, including our Data Science team, Services team, and Sales to help them better understand the nuances of our data.

What you will do

  • Work with Product Managers to drive quarterly planning sessions and set sprint priorities for the engineering team
  • Run standups, sprint planning, and refinement sessions
  • Maintain and prioritize a backlog of tickets
  • Work closely with the Product Managers to translate the product specifications into mockups and actionable steps for the development team
  • Develop and own features from data analysis, discovery, user interviews, design and launch. Prioritize features and resources to ensure critical engineering resources are working on the highest impact solutions.
  • Manage resource allocation across different initiatives and work closely with engineering leaders to make sure that key engineering talent is efficiently allocated
  • Build and maintain metrics and dashboards to track team performance
  • Perform acceptance testing of features before release to ensure correct implementation
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to update and maintain product documentation for new and existing features

Skills & Requirements

What you bring

  • Natural curiosity and quick understanding of data challenges
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders on collecting feedback, prioritizing tasks, and managing the engineering backlog
  • Ability to manage many competing tasks and timelines and communicate their status and results effectively to multiple stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in an industry that’s constantly changing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to speak the technical language of engineers, as well as the language of our clients to Sales & Services teams
  • Basic or intermediate experience in SQL preferred
  • An understanding of consumer, retail, or eCommerce datasets at a granular level would be nice to have

What we offer

  • An inclusive and collaborative company culture- we work in an open environment while working together to get things done and adapt to the changing needs as they come.
  • Market competitive total compensation package.
  • Volunteer time off and charitable donation matching.
  • Strong support for career growth, including mentorship programs, leadership training, access to conferences, and employee resource groups.
  • Great benefits package including health/vision/dental, unlimited PTO, flexible schedule, 401K matching, travel reimbursement, and more.

If this sounds like something you would like to be part of, we’d love for you to apply! Don’t worry if you think that you don’t meet all the qualifications here. The tools, technology, and methodologies we use are constantly changing and we value talent and interest over specific experience.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
