About the role:

We are looking for a highly technical analyst or engineer to join our Global Technical Support organization as a Product Support Engineer. In this role, you will be focused on enabling the resolution of mission critical issues across all Samsara cloud connected products through data. You will provide data analysis, build data tables, enhance data quality and access, and build predictive tools with the primary goal of improving product support to ensure a world-class customer experience. You will innovate on tools and automation that will simplify the customer product experience.

This role is a combination of data analysis, troubleshooting and creative problem-solving with a strong customer focus. We are looking for people who are passionate about Samsara’s mission with a “whatever it takes” attitude to resolve issues with a sense of urgency.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify data trends for Samsara customers related to all areas of the Samsara product
  • Develop services and tools to create and improve workflows for technical support & simplify the customer experience
  • Analyze cloud data and logs to drive quality improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and educator to our global customer support team
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a technical role, preferably in a data focused capacity
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Databricks and Tableau
  • Proficiency with querying languages (e.g. SQL) and scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Bachelors degree or higher in a technical discipline such as data science, computer science or software engineering

An ideal candidate also has:

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer support for cloud based products
  • Experience in building tools to simplify and automate repetitive tasks
  • Ability to drive outcomes without authority - you have the strong project management skills necessary to prioritize, delegate, and drive action across departments
  • Operational urgency - you have hands-on experience delivering business results under tight timelines
  • Technical know-how - you’re comfortable interfacing with engineers, translating complex technical concepts into everyday language, and working with SaaS systems
