Role: Staff Accountant, Account Receivable

Reports to: Sr. Accounting Manager

Location: This role will be remote in the continental US, Alaska, or Hawaii

Hours: Full-time

Salary Range: $31/hour

Status: Non-exempt

Overview of the role

The Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable will assist the Sr. Accounting Manager with day-to-day and accounting period close tasks related to Cash Collection and Accounts Receivable processes and will support the organization during the institutional audit.

  • Experienced. Must have prior experience working in the field of Accounts Receivable.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in managing full cash collection cycles
  • Review and record Accounts Receivable, Contributions Receivable and Cash Receipts transactions in the accounting system
  • Set up and maintain donor master records
  • Perform review of confidential financial documents and information and ensure adherence with Trevor’s policies
  • Maintain Accounts receivable aging report and follow up with the respective departmental units regarding overdue accounts
  • Help to identify uncollectible accounts and maintaining schedule for allowance for bad debts
  • Follow up with employees and other stakeholders regarding outstanding receivable balances
  • Reconcile Receivables subledger balances with the respective accounts in General Ledger
  • Reconcile Accounting System and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)records
  • Provide Development team with information requested by donors
  • Assist Financial Controller in the month-end and annual closing process
  • Participate in Accounting software implementation projects
  • Support in preparing audit samples and schedules for annual institutional audit
  • Support Audit and compliance Manager in submission of IRS Form 990
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Other relevant tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned
